Version 2.5

Is coming soon!

We are finishing up the remaining bugs, which are for PostgreSQL. Once those are completed, we will be releasing version 2.5.

Also, with the 2.5 release we will offer a XAMPP Windows package. This will allow people to get up and running practically immediately in a windows environment. More details to come.

Request: Looking for testers.

We are looking for some additional people to help test phpCollab so we can get the next release out.

If you are interested, please post here and let us know.

thanks.

Development has started once again!!

UPDATE: Originally we planned to release 2.5 stable after 2.5RC3, however, after fixing a lot of bugs in 2.5, we are going to release another RC version before the stable release. Hopefully we will get 2.5RC4 released in the near future (read in the next month or two at the latest). We are trying to polish off some of the high priority bugs such as the JPGraph and security issues before we release 2.5RC4.

Please, help us flush out any bugs by posting in the forums any issues you come across while using 2.5RC3 and 2.5RC4 (when it gets released).

Thanks! - PHPc Team

No, we are not dead..

But we are very busy with our “normal” jobs. Actually the only two quite-active developers are Mindblender and me. So the project goes on veeeeery slowly.

Btw If you want to help us (and yourself) please take a look on the bugs on the SourceForge bugs page and try to fix them ;).

If you want to become an active developer, the way is the same. After you’ll fix at least two major bugs and help a little on the forum I’ll give you a CVS account…

And if you sometimes check on the CVS there are fix and patch for phpCollab 2.5 [that actually is a lot more stable than 2.4]…

phpCollab 3 only for PHP 5?

I’m wondering if a total rewrite of phpCollab using a PHP5 only MVC framework should be a good choice. This would give us some benefits such:

  • a new/refreshed code more scalable
  • unit testing
  • php 5 objects
  • PDO
  • creole/propel
  • i don’t know… other…

what do you think on a choice like this? You’ll use phpCollab if it will be compatible only with php 5? Or you prefer a classical php 4 application?
